Surface Preparation

30 days needed for the concrete base to cure. The surface needs to be completely clean, dry, spotless, and free of foreign objects.

All of the surfaces must be well-built. The easiest way to determine whether your base prepared is to rub your shoe against it; if cement comes out, your base is not prepared for the next step. However, if no cement comes out, your base prepared and you can proceed to the next step.

In other words - All surfaces must be solidly constructed, with any weak materials being chipped away. By chipping away any unsound material, including oil and other contaminants. Acid etching or solvents should used to remove oil and other contaminants, and any leftover residues should be completely cleaned up. When acid etching, thoroughly rinse the surface and neutralize it with a solution of 1% ammonia.
